Kia

Kia Motors is an automobile manufacturer from South Korea and since 1998 they have been a part of the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group, based in Seoul, Korea. The name is representative of their Asian heritage, with the letter "k" meaning "coming up" and the "a" standing for "Asia".

The company was founded under the name Kyongseong Precision Industry, which was founded in 1944. Kyongseong Precision Industry originally manufactured bicycles and motorcycles. The first vehicle was a truck called the Kia Titan designed and manufactured in 1972. Later on that next year, that vehicle would play a significant role for the company. Not only was the vehicle at that time to go public, but it was also built to be the first gasoline engine in Korea. The truck proved popular enough for the first car, the Brisa, to be built in 1974.

In 1976, Kia Motors Asia was built. Two years later they developed the first diesel engine in Korea and by the mid-80's they were in collaboration with Mazda and Kia Ford. This resulted in the introduction of the top-selling Kia Pride. Expansion into other regions of the world began in 1992.

Due to economic crisis in 1998, the group was taken over by the Hyundai Group. From this merger came the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group. After the merger, Kia was the seventh-largest vehicle manufacturer in the world, a status that it retains to this day.

Has Your Kia Auto Warranty Expired or is it About to Expire?

Kia has an extreme amount of confidence when it comes to its vehicles because it offers a couple of warranties. First, it gives its new owners a 10 year / 100,000 mile guarantee that includes a Powertrain Limited Warranty for the same amount of time. Then it has the 5 year / 60,000 mile guarantee Wear Item Limited Warranty that will also cover the powertrain as well. All plans include a 5 year / 60,000 mile roadside assistance plan that helps motorists out with normal issues.

The powertrain warranty covers the major components to the engine, transmission, drive shaft, hydraulic pump, cylinder head, axles, clutch and CV joints. Kia drivers are also equipped with a Seat Belt Lifetime Warranty, which will allow you to take your vehicle to any Kia dealer and have your car serviced for free. It doesn’t matter if you are the original owner or not either. All you need to have is the registration in your name and insurance on the car.

Why Extend Your Kia Auto Warranty?

Kia has one of the best manufacturer Wear Item Limited Warranty out there, with terms of either 5 years or 60,000 miles. Yet all good things must end, and once those 5 years are up the owner becomes responsible for all repair costs. With repair costs rising, one bill from the mechanics can cause quite the case of sticker shock. Though repairs are inevitable for any vehicle, extending the manufacturer’s warranty can combat high repair costs.

A vehicle protection contract (formerly known as an extended auto warranty) extends the manufacturer’s car warranty so that coverage continues even after the old warranty expires. In this way, a protection contract covers the ¾ of components that the powertrain warranty does not cover, and helps ensure that your Kia is out of the shop and on the road without paying a fortune. Certain vehicle protection contracts can also offer coverage on parts that were not included before, such as ABS brakes and electrical components.

A vehicle protection contract can save you thousands, which is why Vehicle Protection Headquarters strives to bring you the best price on quality coverage. Our contracts often pay for themselves after just one repair, and don’t limit you to just one shop for repairs.

Though we strive to offer the best rates, like any vehicle protection contract our best rates go to those who buy early. Get a quote today or talk to one of our experts about what type coverage will work best for you. For additional questions, call today or visit our FAQ page.
