Most likely when you purchased your vehicle at Carpages it came with a factory warranty. However, not all drivers know what exactly is covered by their manufacturers. We did a little research and decided to write articles about the factory coverage for various Honda vehicles including the Accord, Civic, Fit, CR-V, Pilot, Hybrids and more. Below you will find the breakdown of what is covered and for how long.

Honda Accord Warranty Details:*

  • 5-Year/60,000-Mile Limited Power-train Plan, with regular maintenance and/or adjustments, parts subject to normal wear/tear and replacement, and certain items are excluded
  • 3-Year/36,000-Mile New Limited Coverage.
  • Replacement Parts Limited Plan—Genuine Parts are covered for 1 year. The coverage for replacement parts purchased from and installed by a dealer includes parts replacement and labor.
  • 5-Year/Unlimited-Mile Corrosion Limited Plan.
  • Accessory Limited Plan—All Genuine Accessories are covered for 3 years or 36,000-miles when they are installed at the same time of new vehicle purchase.

The information above is not just limited to a specific make and model, but it is also the general standard for all vehicles. But if you are looking to compare your current coverage with other factory warranties, check out the table below for more information on how your plan stacks up against the rest.

This table includes the details of Factory Vehicle Protection Plans for each make

Remember, when your manufacturer’s coverage expires or is voided you will not be eligible for any of the benefits mentioned above. We have outlined how your manufacturer’s auto protection can be voided in previous posts, but we cannot stress it enough.

Extended Vehicle Protection Explained

If you want your vehicle to stay protected after your factory warranty has expired, you should consider looking into extended vehicle service contract. Most likely your dealer offered this plan to you when you initially purchased your car, but if you have never heard of it, you can read more about how extended car warranties work here.

After purchasing your vehicle, you have become accustomed to not having to pay for costly car repairs, so why start now? An extended car coverage will keep your vehicle protected for years after your manufacturer’s protection expires. And the best thing about an extended protection, is that it will cover not only your vehicle but also restore your peace of mind.

Update 6/19/2013: 2014 Accord’s coverage will stay the same as last year. Basic Coverage is 3 years or 36K miles; Drivetrain is 5 years or 60K miles and Rust Coverage is 5 years/unlimited mileage. Unfortunately, there is still no roadside assistance plan available for Honda vehicles even though a lot of other manufacturers already offer it, as you can see in the table above.

If you want to add roadside assistance to your current manufacturer’s coverage call us for a free quote or simply fill out the form (click on “Get Your Free Quote” button).
